Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Show students images of Britto’s work for inspiration or ask them to search online using their tablet or computer by typing Romero Britto original paintings in the search bar.

Step 2

Using a black sharpie or black marker, let them draw a large heart on their paper. Use the template provided if necessary.

Step 3

Ask them to draw lines to create sections within their heart and around it.

Step 4

With a white wax crayon, they will trace over their black lines. The wax of the crayon will create a barrier between the watercolour paint they will apply later so the different colours they choose will not mix.

Step 5

Using their paintbrush, ask them to paint their paper with clean water. They should apply lots of water.
