Hello!
We are:
We create mixed media visual arts projects for the joy and fulfillment of special needs kids no matter their skill level.
My Story

As far back as I can remember, the quote attributed to Mahatma Ghandi “Be the change you wish to see in the world” resonated with me. As I went through school as a kid, teen and young adult, I thought to myself what better way to do just that, than to become a teacher! I could share my joy for learning with all my students, create amazing resources and hands-on projects, teach my own students to take action, take steps to become a WE School, go on field trips… I could make a difference!
I achieved most of my goals, including becoming a WE School, but truth is, I did not really know what it meant to be a teacher in the public system. I learned the hard way that resources were limited, and never did I see it and feel it more, than when I took a job as an art teacher in a special needs high school, teaching students with moderate to severe impairments. The dedication from the staff towards the students was amazing, and what we did with so little resources was mind boggling!
The Birth of Little Box of Magic
Teaching art to special needs kids was never something I thought I would ever do. Upon accepting this assignment, I could not have imagined any of the challenges that I would actually have to face, day in and day out. One thing was clear, there were hardly any art resources designed for special needs teens with moderate to severe impairments. I spent countless hours searching for fun, engaging art projects that would boost their self-esteem, until I decided to create them myself, and they blossomed!
Success in my art room, where my students bloomed, is what made me take a leap of faith and quit my teaching career to fully dedicate myself into the development of inspiring art projects that any student, no matter their skill level can do.
