Cherry Blossom Tree Teacher Digtial Art Project

Description: Let your students’ creative side shine! In this activity*, students will use different types of painting tools and art techniques to create a beautiful mixed media composition of a Cherry Blossom Tree. Showing the easy-to-follow step-by-step process filled with images and pictograms on your smart TV, will help guide your students into creating their own masterpiece. While working on this project, students will be practicing various life skills from setting up and organizing their workspace, to cleaning up once finished. They will also work on their executive functioning skills by following the steps required, and by planning and making decisions related to the production of their art

*This art activity was created for special needs students. It may take several sessions to complete depending on their attention span, fine motor skills and independence level.

Conversely, any student from pre-kindergarten to grade 5 (4 to 10 years old) will enjoy creating their own masterpiece while following our step-by-step instructions or by using the materials as they please.

• Students will explore inspiration pieces to create a mixed media composition of a cherry blossom tree using tempera paint and tissue paper.
• Students will experiment with different painting tools as they apply colour to shape their artwork.
• Students will strengthen their fine motor skills as they manipulate various tools and materials.
